40 Days in the Word: Love the Word, Learn the Word, Live the Word Coming in January, our entire congregation is encouraged to be a part of this spiritual adventure as we dive in the God’s Holy Word and discover again how central this book is to our lives. This adventure will cover a total of 8 weeks in worship with 6 weeks of small group study. The small group study will be totally different than the 40 Day adventures we have had before. Instead of meeting in small groups in various homes, everyone will gather in the sanctuary for the video teaching and then break into small groups that will meet in various rooms around the church for discussion and then at the end we will all gather back together for light finger foods and fellowship. There will be two books that are recommended for each person that will cost a total of $20. Sign up list will be available January 15th. Make your plans now to be a part of this church wide adventure!
Methodist’s on the Move! We have some new exciting opportunities to get a little exercise and have a little fellowship at the same time. Cathy Cochran has offered to head up a new program we are calling Methodists on the Move. Let’s see how many miles we can walk! Cathy Cochran can be contacted by cell (706) 537-2408 or by e-mail catlyn@windstream.net if you have questions. Begins Wednesday, January 11th and Thursday, January 12th. Come Join us!
A Ministry of Exercise. Did you know that your church has several pieces of exercise equipment here at the church that are available to help you keep active? On Sunday, January 15th right after the 10:55am worship service, we will have a brief (20 minutes) session to examine what equipment we have and the rules that will govern their use. We have a couple of treadmills, stationary bikes, a set of free weights and a weight machine. If you think you might take advantage of any of these items, than you need to be here for the brief orientation session.
Chatsworth PIT Crew to begin in January! Coming in January, an opportunity to make an impact. Our pastor Roger Vest is inviting each of you to be a part of the Pastor’s Intercessory Team (PIT) crew to pray for our Pastor, his family, the ministry of this church and specific issues and situations that come up from time to time. I am looking for people who are willing to respond in prayer when the need arises and to support me by praying for specific issues that I will share with you twice a week. An e-mail will be sent out on Monday and Thursday of each week (If you do not have e-mail, a phone call will be placed) asking for your prayer. In order to be included on the PIT crew, you have to let Roger know. He will not send these requests out to the entire church. I invite you to prayerfully consider being a part of this new prayer ministry. (first update went out today, but there is still time to sign up!)
